2009 Missouri Libertarian Party State Convention Saturday April 18th
The Missouri Libertarian Party 2009 State Convention will be held at the Truman
Hotel and Conference Center in Jefferson City, MO Saturday April 18th.
The convention focus is on county organizations, campus organizations and
candidates. The Missouri LP State Committee will meet in the afternoon to elect
officers, amend the platform and bylaws, and elect the Executive Committee.
In recent years there is growing dissatisfaction with the direction our country
is going. You can see this with the success Ron Paul had in his run for the
Republican Presidential nomination.
Just in the last month 100's and even 1000's of people have participated in
'Tea Party' rally's all across the nation to protest the bailouts and
unprecedented federal government spending.
The Libertarian message of personal liberty, economic freedom, free markets and
peace needs to be heard now more than ever.
Now is the time for Libertarians to step up and lead.
Please attend this convention and help us plot a course for more freedom and
liberty in our lifetime.
The keynote speaker is Michael Jingozian, candidate for the 2008 Libertarian
Party Presidential nomination and Libertarian Party National Committee Vice
Chair.
The luncheon speaker is Jan Stover, Founder and Director of The Mothers
Institute/Mothers for Liberty.
Session speakers include:
- Gary Nolan, host of The Drive with Gary Nolan on The Eagle 93.9FM in Columbia.
- Mark Rutherford, Chairman, Atlas!Liberty PAC and former Indiana LP State Chair.
- Mike Ferguson, elected libertarian and host of Missouri Viewpoints.
- Austin Petersen, National LP Volunteer Coordinator and a Missouri native.
- Glenn Nielsen, Missouri LP State Chair.
There will be a discussion forum with Missouri libertarians who have been
elected and now serve in local office.
In these tough economic times the Missouri Libertarian Party has worked hard to
keep expenses for the convention down so more Missouri Libertarians can attend.
This will be a one day event allowing many to attend without having the expense
of a hotel room. The cost is only $40.00 which includes lunch. $15.00 for
students.
Rooms at the Truman Hotel and Conference Center are only $59.00 per night.
Lunch and coffee/tea breaks are included with the convention fee. Lunch
includes a deli sandwich, salad and desert.
There will be a dinner at a local restaurant Saturday evening where those
attending the convention can socialize and relax after the convention. Dinner
is on you but the MOLP asks that you RSVP in advance so we know how many will
attend when making reservations.
