Official Missouri Libertarian Party E-Mail lists

The Missouri Libertarian Party manages a number of E-Mail lists whose sole purpose are for conducting the business of the MOLP. These lists are NOT for political debates or general chatting.

Each list is designed for a specific purpose. Please keep your usage of each E-Mail list to its stated purpose. Please do not send E-Mails to multiple lists unless it is absolutely necessary, especially cross posting to the public E-Mail lists on Yahoo Groups. The more E-Mail is cross posted between multiple E-Mail lists the less effective it becomes. E-Mails should be targeted to the minumim set of people who have a need for the information. I strongly urge those who use these E-Mail lists to review the information below in the E-Mail Etiquette and Effective Use section.

Some lists below are listed as being PRIVATE. A PRIVATE list is one where the E-Mail messages may only be viewed by those people who are subscribers to the list. Please be careful that sensitive information is not cross posted from a PRIVATE MOLP list to a public list such as those hosted by YahooGroups.

An online archive is kept for each MOLP list. This archive can be viewed online by going to the subscription page for the list and selecting the link to the email list Archives. For a PRIVATE list you will be asked to login before you can view the list Archives.

Unofficial Public Missouri Libertarian E-Mail lists

E-Mail list hosting services such as Yahoo Groups ( http://groups.yahoo.com/) are an easy way for anyone to setup a discussion list. There are a number of lists available which are setup for public discussion of issues and debates. Here are links to a few of the more popular ones.

E-Mail Etiquette and Effective Use

E-Mail is a convenient way to communicate with others. And E-Mail lists make it even easier to send E-Mail to thousands of other people. But with the growth in its use and the plague of Unsolicited Commercial E-Mail (SPAM) and E-Mail Viruses, E-Mail is becoming less and less effective.

For an organization or group to maximize the benefits of E-Mail members of that organization need to learn how to use E-Mail effectively as a means of communication.

Here are some links to articles about effective use of E-Mail. The first three are from the University of Michigan, just ignore the few sentences which refer to specifics for the University administration of lists. Please take a few minutes to read these articles and consider how you might be able to use E-Mail more effectively.
