New County Chairs, State Committee Members

New county chairs should have been selected at organizing meetings after the August 6 Primary Election that selected new township committeemen and women (see the January 2002 Show-Me Freedom for a complete list of organizing dates and committees).

State Committee members should be selected on November 23.

In St. Charles County, George Mussmann was re-elected as chair, a position he has held since 1997. Darla Maloney, Libertarian Party US Congressional Candidate in the Second District, was elected vice-chair and Paul Kientzy secretary. Greg and Jan Sloan, Champions of Freedom Award winners this year, continue as treasurer.

In St. Louis County, Allen Glosson was elected chair with Tamara Millay as vice-chair. LaDonna Higgins is secretary and Matt Peters treasurer. Allen Glosson replaces outgoing chair Dick Illyes, whom the MO Libertarian Party salutes for both his years of service as county chair and as the Libertarian Party standard bearer for the anti-stadium initiative.

St. Louis City has Dan Smith, a former employee of the national Libertarian Party and speaker at the MO Libertarian Party 1999 convention in KC, is the new chair. Nancy Webb has become vice-chair, with Steve Schaper and Kevin Babcock as secretary and treasurer.

Please report new county chairs, officers and state committee members to either Executive Director Greg Tlapek at 877-Vote-4-Us or e-mail him at gtlaptek@aol.com, or to MO Libertarian Party Secretary Jim Higgins, higginslp@aol.com or 314-997-0291.
