Teresa Foli is Mrs. Missouri

Teresa Foli, wife of Libertarian Chillicothe Mayor and state rep candidate Jeff Foli, earned the title of Mrs. Missouri in Blue Springs on July 14. She competes for the title of Mrs. America in Honolulu on September 18th and 20th.

Cable channel Pax TV will carry the pageant in two showings on October 12 and 19.

"Jeff is proud, excited and looking forward to going to Honolulu", Teresa said in a recent interview, "And I am his campaign partner as he runs for office".

The competition for Mrs. America is based on the following categories: 50% interview, 25% swimsuit and 25% evening gown. "They'll keep us busy during the competition in Honolulu", Teresa stated, but they typically arrange other activities including parades, luncheon with the governor, charity events and so on".

Two years ago Mrs. Foli entered the Mrs. Missouri competition but did not place. Last year she came in first runner up. Finally in 2002 she took top honors and has earned a berth in Hawaii.

Mayor Foli and Mrs. Missouri live in Chillicothe with their two children, Marissa, 9, and Skylor, 5. Teresa's motto comes from Hugh B. Brown, an elder in the LDS church in Utah: "We are not endeavoring to get ahead of others, but only to surpass ourselves".

If Teresa wins in Honolulu, she'll next compete for Mrs. World in a December competition in Romania. The prize package for winning top honors in Honolulu includes an all expense paid trip to the world competition.
