George Mussmann, chair of the St. Charles Libertarian Party Central Committee, is leading a project to update the MO Libertarian Party’s County Chairs manual.

George and the reviewers including Greg Tlapek, Steve Schaper, Chip Taylor, John Williams and Chris Davis have updated and upgraded the content.

The new version contains sections on Missouri Election Law, County Committee Officer Responsibilities, Tips (learned the hard way), County Activities, 2004 Elections, Election Challengers and the MO Ethics Commission.

In addition, the new manual has appendices including samples, instructions and reference material such as “How to Write a News Release”, samples for meeting agendas, proxies, membership sign-up, election challenges, meeting reminders, the Nolan Chart, organizing requirements and sample bylaws.

The manual also includes contact lists for counties, national and state committees.

To complete the manual, George is awaiting the new lists of county chairs and state committee members. When it is complete, copies will be distributed to the new county chairs sometime in December.

County chairs should have been selected shortly after the August 6 Primary Election. State committee members should be selected on November 23.

Accordingly, please see the companion article on reporting new county chairs.

County chairs interested in a preview of the manual can receive an electronic copy from George at gmussmann@charter.net.
