Yes, You, Y-O-U You, Can WIN a Libertarian Election!In the August 2002 primary, scores of Libertarians across the state will be swept into office as Libertarian Township Committee reps. Winners will be listed in Missouri's "Blue Book", the Official Manual of the State of Missouri published by the Secretary of State. All that is required is a short trip to your county clerk's office to file as a Township Committeeman or Committeewoman. The filing period for Township Committee reps extends from February 26 through March 26. By state statue, every political party may have two township committee representatives, typically one man and one woman. Counties usually have between 10 and 25 townships. In your area, townships may be called wards or divided further into precincts or sub-districts. Township committee reps form the basis for several other Libertarian Party state organizations:
County committees and legislative district committees are organized on specific dates as prescribed by state statue. See the related article.
