Volunteers Spark LP ActivityGary Stocker, Lindsey Schroeder, Kevin Tull, and Paul Kientzy are just a few of the people who have stepped up to help promote Liberty through their activism in the Libertarian Party. As noted elsewhere, Gary Stocker and Lindsey Schroeder are the campus coordinators building student organizations at various campuses across the state. One notable success is the emerging group at Washington University in St. Louis. Kevin Tull has stepped up to become newsletter editor, replace Jeanne Bojarski. Kevin will layout the newsletter using material provided from a variety of writers. Paul Kientzy is managing the distribution list for e-Show-Me-Freedom, the electronic version of the state’s newsletter. The need for their involvement has been particularly acute with the departure of at least four major activists in the Mo Libertarian Party, notably Jeanne Bojarski, Tom Knapp and Steve and Lisa Shaper. The activists have curtailed their involvement for a variety of factors including medical, job and relocation.
Others notables who have helped fill the void include Greg and Jan Sloan, Glen and Catherine Blackmon and TL and Suzi Wahl.
It is clear that in a organization such as the Libertarian Party, volunteer activism is vital. Moreover, changing personal circumstances cause activists to drift in and out of service. Without the commitment and dedication of volunteers such as those listed above, the wheels of the state party may have come off with communication, organization and activity grinding to a halt. Luckily, none of this has happened, and we have volunteers such as these to thank for it. |
